A new Bridget Jones book has just received a release date 14 years after the latest book on the character played by Renee Zellweger in the movie adaptations.
Author Helen Fielding has announced that the third installment of the book will come out in November of this year.
The first, Bridget Jones' Diary, was released in 1996, and the second, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, came out in 1999.
Fielding dished on the third book, saying "My life has moved on and Bridget's will move on, too. I hope people will have as much fun reading it as I am writing it,” The Hollywood Reporter reports.
The new book will feature the unlucky-in-love Jones in present day London and in a completely new chapter in her life.
EW reports that the Bridget Jones books have sold more than 15 million copies. There is a third movie in the works, but her third book won’t follow the plot of the film, which will feature Jones having a baby.
Colin Firth, who plays Mark Darcy in the films, has said about the next film “I can tell you that Bridget and Mark can’t have children, I think that’s the way it goes on. So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver [Hugh Grant's character] for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she’s left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?”
