Big names turn out for Saturday pre-Oscar parties

A big formality on Oscar weekend is the big star-studded Saturday night parties held by all kinds of Hollywood groups and studios.

Here’s who was seen out and where:

Quentin Tarantino and Christoph Waltz were spotted at the exclusive Soho House on Sunset in West Hollywood.

The Hollywood Reporter held its own exclusive party party at the Beverly Hills Hotel, holding most members of the press out except for themselves. Jennifer Garner, Ben Afleck, Bradley Cooper, and Robert DeNiro were among the attendees there.

Deadline published a very comprehensive list of sightings of A-listers that hit the town Saturday.

Steven Spielberg, Michele Burke and Colin Farrell attended the Oscar Wilde U.S.-Ireland Alliance party.

Robert Downey Jr., Julia Roberts and Disney CEO Bob Iger went to a dinner hosted by Universal President Ron Meyer.

DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg hosted the most star-filled turnout in a fundraiser for the Motion Picture & Television Fund. Bob Iger, Rupert Murdoch, Daniel Day-Lewis, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Steven Spielberg and Alyssa Milano were only a few on a stacked list of participants.

Those who needed rest for the awards show will probably be hit the town Sunday for round two.
