It looks like David Denman is moving from Scranton to Beverly Hills.
The Office actor has been cast as the co-star for the hourlong series Beverly Hills Cop pilot, which will be on CBS reports The Hollywood Reporter. The show is based off the Beverly Hills Cop movie franchise.
Eddie Murphy reprises his role of Axel Foley and is focused on his son Aaron, played by Brandon T. Jackson. Denman will play Brad Fuller, a detective in Beverly Hills who is loyal and socially awkward, but a good guy to have on your side. Together they will take down the crime elements of the rich and famous, while Aaron does his best to get out of his father’s shadow says Deadline.
Denman’s character is being seen as the Judge Reinhold of the series. If the series is picked up, Murphy could have a recurring role on the show.
The pilot is being produced by Murphy along with Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and Mary Hochman. It is being presented by Sony Pictures Television. Ryan is also on board to pen the script. The show will be a crime practical with comedic elements mixed in.
Denman can be seen in the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic jOBS and M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth.
