Twentieth Century’s animated movie Rio 2 has more celebrities to give voices. Other than Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx and Jesse Eisenberg who were in Rio, Bruno Mars, Andy Garcia, Kristin Chenoweth and Rachel Crow will join the voicing cast.
The sequel will continue the life of macaws Blu (Eisenberg) and Jewel (Hathaway) in the Brazilian city. They will have a new adventure with their children, with Jewel proposing to relocate to the Amazon rainforest, reported Digital Spy.
According to Cinema Blend, the 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP held in Brazil will also be an element of the film.
The original director, Carlos Saldanha, who also directed Ice Age, will be back to direct the sequel. The film will be produced by John C. Donkin and Bruce Anderson. The music will be more emphasized on new Brazilian artists and original music by Janelle Monáe and The Wondaland Arts Society. The music will be composed by John Powell.
The first movie was a big success, grossing $484 million worldwide and receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. The sequel's release date is set for March 28, 2014 in Brazil and April 11, 2014 in the United States and worldwide.
