One of the stars of the breakout MTV hit Buckwild has been arrested on drug possession charges.
Salwa Amin was arrested early this morning in West Virginia for a felony drug possession charge with intent to deliver.
TMZ reports that Amin is scheduled to be arraigned this morning.
Details of her arrest haven’t been made available to the media, and Sgt. Rick Drake says Amin will not talk about it. He also said he didn’t know if she had a lawyer or not.
WOWK TV reports Amin has been arrested before, in Kanawha County back in July of 2012.
Meanwhile, Buckwild, described as the redneck version of Jersey Shore, has been renewed for a second season.
The show was a sort of successor to Jersey Shore and its premiere had 2.5 million viewers last month. However, it didn’t premiere without backlash.
West Virginia senator Joe Manchin said he was “repulsed” by the show, adding, “I cannot imagine that anyone who loves this country would feel proud profiting off of Buckwild.”
