Some good news for troubled actress Lindsay Lohan as The Canyons has been picked up by the IFC Films.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the film, which was rejected at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, has been picked up by the IFC and will premiere sometime this summer.
Director Paul Schrader released a statement following the news, saying, “I am delighted our film has found an enthusiastic home at IFC. We envisioned The Canyons as a multi-platform release from the beginning and no company knows that world better than IFC.”
Canyons will be available for theatrical, digital and on demand options, Zap2It reports.
Despite blows to Lohan from the New York Times, who slammed her on-set attitude, New York Film Festival director of programming Kent Jones calls the actresses work on The Canyons “fearless” and stunning.
The Canyons will be featured at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and will follow with discussions from both Schrader and Jones.
