Carrie Fisher hospitalized after bipolar disorder incident on stage

Former Star Wars princess Carrie Fisher was hospitalized following an incident related to her bipolar disorder last Saturday on Holland America Caribbean cruise.

A video of the performance surfaced, showing Fisher murmuring some off-notes songs, which lyrics she almost entirely forgot. She could not stand straight on the stage and even had her pooch pee on the stage, TMZ reported.

While performing, Fisher, who was featured on the cruise as a surprise celebrity guest, was reported to be completely drunk.

Fisher's representative, however, said it happened due to her bipolar disorder.

"There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher’s bipolar disorder," the statement read. "She went to the hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now."

The actress turned screenwriter turned performance artist announced her prescription drug addiction and bipolar disorder publicly through her 2008 memoir, Wishful Drinking, E! News reported. She turned her book into a successful one-woman show.

A representative for Holland America Caribbean has not commented.
