CBS to premiere new optimistic reality competition 'The Job'

By Elizabeth O'Laughlin,

The Job is a new CBS reality show where contestants hone their communication, interview, and overall job-seeking skills in hopes of obtaining an assistant manager position at The Palm restaurant chain.

Unlike your stereotypical reality show, The Job is a feel-good program. The Orlando Sentinel reports the goal is for contestants to prove themselves in the competitive job market by practicing in the work place and taking quizzes.

CBS reports the show will take place in South Florida. The competition will be hosted by Lisa Ling and produced by successful producers Mark Burnett of Survivor and The Apprentice, and Michael Davies of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

The five hopefuls won’t have time for petty drama characteristics of reality TV. Instead, they will be under constant pressure to bring their A game and win the prize. All their interactions with employers will be in front of a studio audience.

The Job will premiere February 8 at 8:00 pm on CBS.
