CBS’ NCIS has officially been renewed for its eleventh season.
According to USA Today, NCIS’ renewal comes hand-in-hand with the contract extension of Mark Harmon. His contract was slated to end at the end of this season. His contract has since been renewed for an undisclosed amount of time, but fans can ensure an eleventh season of the hit drama.
Thus far, the series has maintained top ratings beating out the likes of Sunday Night Football.
CBS’ Corp. President and CEO Leslie Moonves released a statement saying, “In a world gone niche, NCIS keeps getting bigger and Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man on the No. 1 show on televisionNCIS is the type of franchise every company wants in today's global content ecosystem -- high-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform."
The hit crime drama, which first appeared in 2003, sees the likes of Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray and Cote de Pablo among others.
NCIS was created by Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill.
