Before Seal became famous, he had an uptight life and doubted himself in singing. This changed after meeting the producer Adamski, who gave Seal the lyrics of the song "Killer," which reached number one in the UK in 1990.
Seal signed contracts with ZTT records and released his debut album, Seal. Among the songs, "Crazy" became an international hit, reaching number two in the UK Singles Chart and number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US in 1991.
Seal’s second self-titled album, Seal II in 1994 is also a success and received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The song "Kiss From A Rose" became famous when it was chosen in the soundtrack to the movie Batman Forever. The song became Seal’s best single in the US and won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 1996.
Later Seal continued to produce high-quality albums, including System, Soul and Hits.
Seal had a 7-year marriage with German supermodel Heidi Klum and they have four kids in total. But the marriage ended in 2012.
