Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton welcomes first son

Perez Hilton has announced that he has welcomed his first child, a son, earlier this month.

The openly gay celebrity blogger announced the news on his official site in a post titled “A Very Important Message From Perez.”

In the message he informs, “I want you to hear this directly from me, right here. I am ready to announce that earlier this month I was blessed with the birth of my first child, a beautiful and healthy baby boy - with lots of hair on his tiny head!”

Continuing he states, “My family is overjoyed at this newest and most cherished addition.”

As LA Times notes, Perez, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, did not reveal his new son's name nor if the child was adopted or born via surrogate.

Perez has previously expressed his desire to become a father before the age of 35 in an interview four years ago.

Since his announcement his Twitter feed has been flooded with congratulatory statements from celebs across the Twittersphere.
