Chris Brown remains seated during Frank Ocean Grammy standing ovation

Chris Brown opted to not take the high road during Sunday’s Grammy Awards when he lost to Frank Ocean for Best Urban Contemporary Album. The controversial rapper was spotted remaining seated when Ocean’s name was announced as the winner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, during the announcement of the nominees, the crowd stayed noticeably quiet when Brown was announced as a potential winner. When Ocean was dubbed the winner and handed the Grammy, the audience jumped to their feet to honor him. Every person in the room was on their feet, except Brown.

Additional reports suggest that CBS added in the sound of applause for viewers, but the room actually remained silent. The network did not comment on the alleged report.

Brown and Ocean recently got into a fight, allegedly over a parking space at a California recording studio. Although reports of prosecution surfaced, Ocean took to Tumblr to voice his forgiveness.

Police have since closed the case.

Brown is still on probation for his 2009 battery of on again girlfriend Rihanna.

Ocean has not responded to the obvious snub.
