Christian Slater is engaged to Brittany Lopez

Actor Christian Slater recently proposed to his girlfriend of three years, Brittany Lopez – and she said yes!

Us Weekly reports the star confirmed the news while on the February 27 episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The couple met at Little Island Resort near Miami in 2009. While the duo are inseparable now, Slater admits that he actually mistook Lopez for a lesbian!

The Daily Mail shared that Slater originally saw Lopez and another female friend talking near the ocean, when one got down on one knee. Since he saw what had happened, the star went over to congratulate the presumed couple.

The actor, 43, said, “I thought I had just witnessed a nice lesbian engagement, so I was coming over to say congratulations, but it turns out it was her aunt, and she was just trying to help her aunt capture the beauty and the romance of the moment.” The two hit it off ever since.

Slater has two children, Jaden,13, and Eliana, 11, from his first marriage to Ryan Hoddon. The couple married in 2000, but divorced in 2007 after separating in 2005.
