Cirque du Soleil announced Thursday that they will be opening a new Michael Jackson-themed show starting this summer at the Mandalay Bay on the Vegas Strip.
According to Billboard, the one of a kind show group’s CEO Daniel Lamarre said that the new Vegas show will be called Michael Jackson ONE. The company is already busy with a traveling act featuring Jackson’s music called Michael Jackson: Immortal World Tour.
Lamarre stresses that Vegas ‘ONE’ show will be entirely unique from the ‘World Tour’ version according to E! News.
Cirque du Soleil has put on other successful acts on the Vegas strip that featured music legends with the Beatles Love at the Mirage and Viva Elvis at the new Aria Hotel.
The new show will take over the theater spot that was previously occupied by the Lion King at the Mandalay Bay. Preview shows will start in late May, and the show will become a regular at the resort’s theater at the end of June.
