Legendary music producer Clive Davis’s sexuality is making headlines as he has come out as bisexual in his new memoir, The Soundtrack of My Life.
According to Rolling Stone, despite being married and divorced twice, Davis has long kept his private life and his sexuality private. In the memoir, the man behind the success of Whitney Houston and lending his voice to Kelly Clarkson, Bruce Springsteen and many, many others, admits that he began exploring his sexuality back in the days of Studio 54 after a male fan approached him.
"On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures," he writes. He calls being with a man a “welcoming relief.” Prior to this encounter, Davis had only been with women before.
The 80-year-old music vet continued on in life with romantic relationships with both women and men, including a lengthy relationship with an unidentified male doctor - which ended in 2004.
Davis discusses his sexuality with Katie Couric in an interview which airs Tuesday afternoon, The Hollywood Reporter states. He explains of his bisexuality, "I'm still attracted to women … You don't have to be only one thing or another. For me, it's the person."
