As NBC’s Community continues to flounder with low ratings and dwindling chances of a fifth season, actor Ken Jeong has taken on a new project in ABC’s comedy pilot Spy.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Jeong joins Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Rob Corddry (The Daily Show, Childrens Hospital) to co-star on the project.
Spy is based on a British series with the same name. The story follows Tim (Corddry), a father who tries to impress his son by inadvertently joining the Secret Service. Brewster plays the role of Tim’s ex-wife, while Mason Cook (Mockingbird Lane) stars as their son. Jeong is casted as “The Examiner,” a CIA veteran who has gone a little nutty after too many years in the service.
Jeong had a recurring role in Community as Señor Chang, but hasn't appeared in a single episode since creator Dan Harmon was replaced.
Outside of Community, Jeong is best known for his role in The Hangover franchise. He’s signed on to star in the third film, which hits theaters in May.
