A Connecticut grandmother, Debra Denison, killed her two grandsons, and then herself Tuesday in Preston, Connecticut.
Denison, 47, was supposed to bring her two grandsons, Alton and Ashton, home from day care and celebrate two-year-old Ashton’s birthday.
CNN reports that the boys mother, Brenda Perry, contacted police around 4 p.m. ET Tuesday to report that her two children and mother were missing. Perry also mentioned to the police that Denison had a history of mental illness.
Two hours after the police were notified, two-year-old Alton, 6-month-old Ashton, and Denison were found dead of gunshot wounds in her car in Preston, Conn. The car, which matched the description from an Amber alert, was reported by a 911 caller.
According to ABC News, authorities believe that Denison shot the boys and then herself, but are waiting for the official results from an autopsy.
This morning, Perry posted to Facebook, “Thank you for the prayers... My boys are in an amazing place, we got a few great angels watching over us.”
