Conor Kennedy has obviously had other things on his mind since his split from Taylor Swift. The 18-year-old was arrested on Wednesday for protesting in front of the White House.
Kennedy and 47 other Sierra Club activists – including his father Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and actress Daryl Hannah – were handcuffed after protesting to bring attention to climate change, USA Today reports.
The group was protesting to get President Obama to reject the proposed Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline.
“President Obama must deny the pipeline and take decisive steps to address climate disruption, the most significant issue of our time,” said Michael Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club.
If approved, the group claims the Keystone XL pipeline will carry “dirty oil” that contributes to global warming, according to Yahoo! News.
After being driven to a police station, the Kennedy’s were both released after paying a fine. Both father and son were reportedly cheered on by name as they were being handcuffed.
Kennedy and Swift parted ways late last year after first being photographed last summer.
