The CW has just announced that three of their most successful shows, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural have been renewed for another season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the three shows had been rumored to be given the green light, but the renewal came even earlier than most expected.

Mark Pedowitz, President of the network said, “We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that.”

The LA Times reports that Arrow, which first premiered this past October, has been the network's breakout hit, having 4.1 million viewers tune in for the pilot– the largest audience since the premiere of The Vampire Diaries three years prior.

Stephen Amell, star of Arrow shared his excitement about the announcement on Twitter.

Pedowitz continued, “Not only do Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

This renewal will make a second season for Arrow, a fifth for The Vampire Diaries, and a ninth season for longtime runner Supernatural.
