ABC unveiled the next cast for Dancing With The Stars for Season 16, its first since last fall’s experiment with ‘All Stars.’ This season will feature all new celebrities, including comedians Andy Dick and D.L. Hughley, singer Wynonna Judd and athletes Aly Raisman and Jacoby Jones.
Jones’ casting was announced over the weekend. He is a member of the Super Bowl-winning Baltimore Ravens and is just the latest NFL player to take part in the contest for the mirrorball trophy. Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, Jerry Rice and Warren Sapp are just a few of the players who have competed. Jones is set to dance with Karina Smirnoff.
Raisman was a member of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team that won gold at the London Summer Olympics last year. The Massachusetts native has been paired with Mark Ballas.
Dick, who recently appeared on 2 Broke Girls has been paired with Sharna Burgess, while Hughley will dance with Cheryl Burke. Judd will dance with Tony Dovolani.
The rest of the cast includes:
Dorothy Hamill (champion ice skater) with Tristan MacManus
Ingo Rademacher (General Hospital) with Kym Johnson
Kellie Pickler (former American Idol contestant) with Derek Hough
Lisa Vanderpump (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) with Gleb Savchenko
Victor Ortiz (boxer) with Lindsay Arnold
Zendaya Coleman (Shake It Up!) with Val Chmerkovskiy
Entertainment Weekly confirms that Maksim Chmerkovskiy will not return this season. ABC noted that it isn’t “unusual” for any professional dancer to take a break for a season.
DWTS premieres on March 18.
