Former Disney starlet and The X Factor judge, Demi Lovato, admits that she should have given herself more time to heal post-rehab before accepting the position on the judging panel in the new issue of Cosmo on Campus.
According to MTV, the “Give Your Heart a Break” singer opened up about her struggles and her new role on the Fox singing competition with the Cosmopolitan spinoff, explaining, “I don't think I was ready when I started on 'The X Factor.’ In an ideal situation, I would have maybe waited a year or more [after coming out of treatment]."
Lovato entered rehab due to a serious eating disorder in addition to cutting herself in 2010.
Since leaving rehab and bickering with the sharp tongued Simon Cowell, Lovato admits that she finally feels comfortable with herself and being in the spotlight and is even considering getting back into the dating game again.
“Now I'm in a place where I can finally trust and love and be a better person for the man I am in a relationship with…Instead of being a clingy girlfriend or getting jealous,” she explained.
The 20-year-old has not confirmed if she will return as a judge on The X Factor.
