Demi Lovato will release a brand new single called “Heart Attack.” While Lovatics will have to wait until March 4 to hear the song, Lovato, 20, recently opened up about the track, which she says is about falling in love.
" 'Heart Attack,' the single, is obviously coming out, I'm really excited. And the title is just about falling in love and taking that risk," Lovato told MTV News on Thursday. "But, she's terrified and, by 'she,' I mean me. But, I think everyone comes to a point where they feel very vulnerable in falling in love and that's what I'm talking about."
Demi took a personal break from love and dating this past year to focus on bettering herself, which she said was helpful not only personally and professionally, but it helped her understand love better.
''It is very unhealthy when girls devote all of their time to a guy and forget their friends and family. I did that. I was always looking for distractions because I was so afraid of being alone,” she recently told Cosmo on Campus, according to Contactmusic. ''I'm in a place where I can finally trust and love and be a better person for the man I'm in a relationship with, instead of being a clingy girlfriend or getting jealous.''
It seems that decision to focus on her own needs also inspired a positive, personal new album.
This week, she released a teaser for her upcoming single and talked about her new album.
“I think I've opened up more on this album. My life began to evolve and I started to grow," she explained. "These are songs about the celebration of life and how rewarding it can be. This is what this album is about."
