More details are emerging from that scary murder plot against pop star Justin Bieber.
Back in December, an inmate and two fugitives were busted for plotting to kidnap, castrate and then kill the 18-year-old “Boyfriend” and his bodyguard while they were in New York City.
Now, just released audio of phone calls made from a New Mexico prison in November reveal the details of the plan to commit the crime on which TMZ first reported.
The alleged mastermind and prison inmate is Dana Martin, who was at that time serving two life sentences for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl. According to a report on ABC News' Albuquerque affiliate, KOAT, he was working with a former inmate pal, Mark Staake, and Staake’s nephew, Tanner Ruane, to carry out the violent act against the young star.
In a taped conversation from inside Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility, Martin told Ruane about his plan using coded words to mask his malicious intentions. However, before sealing any deals, the plan fell apart. Not only were the prison phone calls monitored, but Staake and Ruane were later arrested by border patrol agents after making a wrong turn into Canada. All three men now face two counts each of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated battery.
A New Mexico State Police affidavit that was previously made public stated that Martin’s motive stemmed from an infatuation with Bieber. The inmate has a tattoo of the heartthrob on his leg, but became disillusioned when he sent the pop star a letter from prison and Bieber never responded. The affidavit also alleged that Martin orchestrated the plot to achieve notoriety.
Fortunately, all’s well. What would the world be like without Justin Bieber?
