Diane Lane and Josh Brolin split after eight years of marriage

Diane Lane and husband Josh Brolin are divorcing after eight years of marriage.

A source close to the couple told E! News that the decision to split was “mutual.”

“It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it's just over." Lane and Brolin did not have any children together, but do have children separately from previous relationships.

Lane, 48, and Brolin, 45, wed in August 2004.

The Perfect Storm actress has one daughter, Eleanor, with ex-husband Christopher Lambert whom she was married to for six years, while The Gangster Squad actor has two children with ex-wife Alice Adair.

According to Us Weekly, who first reported the news, Lane and Brolin split months prior to announcing their decision to divorce.

Lane will return to the screen as she takes on the role of Martha Kent in Man of Steel while Brolin will take on a number of roles in Labor Day, Oldboy, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Crazy for the Storm.
