Ellen DeGeneres has officially been nominated for a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for the audio version of her book, Seriously…I’m Kidding.
The funny lady faces stiff competition, however, as other nominees include Bill Clinton for his book, Back to Work: Why We Need Smart Government for a Strong Economy, Michelle Obama for American Growth, and fellow television host Rachel Maddow for Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power, according to Deadline.
DeGeneres took to her Twitter to announce the news, saying, “Sunday I’m presenting at the #Grammys. I’m also nominated for Best Spoken Word. I’m not surprised. I’ve been speaking words since I was 8.”
DeGeneres is no newcomer at the Grammys, however. According to the Grammys Official Website, this is DeGeneres’s second Grammy nomination. She also hosted the show back in 1996 and 1997 and, according to Fuse, was one of the best Grammy hosts, alongside LL Cool J, who will host this year’s show for the second time in a row.
Congratulations, Ellen DeGeneres, on your Grammy nomination!
