Emily VanCamp, most famous for her role as Emily Thorne in ABC’s Revenge, is going to join Chris Evans in Disney’s superhero franchise film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Hollywood Reporter reports that the details of the plot have not been revealed yet, but the subtitle suggests a story of Winter Soldier, who used to be Captain America’s best friend, but is turned into a brainwashed assassin.
According to Yahoo, VanCamp’s role is possibly Sharon Carter, a descendant of Captain America’s wartime love interest, Peggy Carter.
This is not the first movie for Emily VanCamp. VanCamp appeared in the films The Ring Two and Norman, which brought her the Best Actress award at the 2010 San Diego Film Festival. She also was a regular on television shows Everwood and Brothers and Sisters.
Other actors include Samuel L. Jackson, who will return as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow, and Sebastian Stan, who will play Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier). The directors will be brothers Anthony and Joe Russo.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be in theaters on April 4, 2014.
