Last night the recently reunited Fall Out Boy took the stage during the Slam Dunk Contest at the NBA All-Star Game.
In honor of Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday, the band donned red Chicago Bull jerseys with black jackets, according to Billboard. They performed their newest single, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).”
Much to the crowd’s surprise, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz shot up from the stage to help the band debut the remix of the single. Although the collaboration seemed odd to fans at first, Fall Out Boy front man Patrick Stump told MTV, “There wasn’t any weirdness getting into it. He totally got us, we totally got him.”
Guitarist Joe Trohman added, “ I think it helps that we’re fans. When the vibe is right, everybody works together without really having to discuss how to work together."
Ellie Goulding also performed her hit song, “Lights” to open the evening. Following her performance, American Idol alum Phillip Phillips took the stage to sing “Home,” reported Direct Lyrics.
