Several Fox pilots made news on Tuesday, casting key lead roles for several projects that will compete for a slot in the fall.
Up first is a comedy titled To My Future Assistant. The cast already includes Joe Egender, Melissa Tang and Catherine O’Hara, but on Tuesday, Pitch Perfect’s Brittany Snow joined. According to Entertainment Weekly, she’s slated to play an ambitious woman named Jen who hates being an assistant and is hoping to be a lawyer.
Deadline also confirmed that Stephen Root (The Good Wife, Boardwalk Empire) will play Snow’s boss. Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer wrote the pilot.
TV Line is reporting that Last Resort’s Jay Hernandez has found a job on Gang Related, a pilot from writer Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious). That pilot stars Ramon Rodriguez (Charlie’s Angels) as a San Francisco cop who has to test his loyalty to his gang family while serving on the gang task force. Hernandez plays Rodriguez’s best friend since childhood and a gang member.
Meanwhile, Felicity Huffman has found her male co-stars for Boomerang. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield) and Patrick Heusinger (Royal Pains) will play members of the Hamilton family, a group of assassins who work for the U.S. government. The WArner Bros. TV production is executive produced by John Wells.
