Fox’s adaptation of the Delirium novels written by Lauren Oliver will have Emma Roberts and Daren Kagasoff as the female and male lead.

Major components of the cast of the much anticipated Fox TV show, Delirium, based on the trilogy written by Lauren Oliver, have surfaced, confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
The books center around a world where love is illegal, but 17-year-old Lena Holoway (Emma Roberts) cannot resist her attraction toward Alex (Daren Kagasoff) 95 days before she is planning to undergo a government-mandated operation that will render the tender emotional impossible.
Kagasoff will portray a cocky police officer who is really part of an undercover, anti-government group infiltrating the most rigid, rule-defined sectors of society. Still with a mind of his own, he falls for Lena and wants her to join his cause before the government takes away her free will.
According to Deadline, Wizards of Waverly Place’s Gregg Sulkin will play Julien, who befriends Lena and shares her desire to go against the government’s forced treatment policy, despite his politician father’s (Billy Campbell) acceptance.
Additionally, The Closer’s Corey Campbell will star as Lawrence Task, the leader of the resistance movement.
Author Lauren Oliver took to her Tumblr account to warn fans of the book series that nothing can “completely replicate and remain faithful to them” because it is a different medium. However, she looks forward to being able to flesh out the plot and explore characters more with the newfound freedom that a television show provides.
