Jane Lynch, best known for her role as Sue Sylvester in Fox's musical comedy Glee, will be taking her talents to Broadway this May for a role in Annie.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Lynch will star as Miss Hannigan in Annie for eight weeks, spanning from May 16 to July 14.
While the actress hasn't done Broadway before, the role of Hannigan would be a prefect fit, as her character on Glee has the same ruthless and demeaning attitude.
The NY Daily News reports the actress said, “Some may say I know a thing or two about playing intimidating authority figures. So I am excited and honored to be making my Broadway debut … and joining the pantheon of women who have taken on the great and irresistible role of wicked Miss Hannigan.”
Lynch got her start in theater at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Second City, but has had a huge success in television and film, winning a Primetime Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in Glee.
Lynch recently voiced a character in the animated film Escape from Planet Earth, which hit theaters last week.
