The topic of Governor Chris Christie’s weight is once again coming up in discussions, with Christie maintaining he’s healthy despite being overweight.
While speaking in Union Beach, New Jersey on Tuesday, just one day after joking around with David Letterman and eating a donut on his show, he guaranteed, “Be assured, there is a plan. Whether it will be successful or not, you will all be able to notice.”
He added of his weight, “Of course I care about it . . . sometimes I’m successful and other times I’m not and sometimes periods of great success are followed by periods of great failure.”
But despite being larger than he’d like to be, he promises he’s “remarkably healthy,” the New York Daily News reports, adding, he won’t be "overly self-consumed" by the chatter. However, he plans on taking measures to shed pounds because "My doctor continues to warn me my luck will run out relatively soon.”
He also took to Twitter to post his answers at the press conference, writing as a caption, “Sometimes I'm Successful, Sometimes I'm Not.”
