The voice of a generation, Whitney Houston, has been dead for almost a year now.
It was this time last year when Jennifer Hudson performed a beautiful tribute in the name of Ms. Houston at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Now, Whitney is going to get a proper tribute from the biggest and best names in the music industry, today.
According to Reuters, an hour long special entitled, “The Grammys Will Go On: A Death in the Family” will air on Saturday, February 9th, the night before the Grammy Awards.
This special will be filled with performances and interviews including Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, and Bruce Springsteen.
Whitney died on February 11th from a drug overdose and was found dead in her hotel room bathtub.
This happened one day before the Grammy Awards and the Recording Academy quickly scrambled to put together a touching tribute in which Hudson performed. The tone of the Grammys was completely changed, as reported by ABC.
Now, after a year of turbulence for Whitney’s family, she will get the memorial a voice like hers deserved.
