The 55th Grammy Awards wants performers to cover up! Or at least, that’s what CBS said in a leaked memo.
In a plea for modesty, CBS released a memo requiring attendees to maintain full coverage, according to Deadline.
The memo stated, “Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic.” The memo then continues to warn that obscene wardrobes are unsuitable for television.
A source told The New York Daily News that the memo was “never intended to be written down” and was “never approved by anybody.”
But according to USA Today, this type of memo is actually pretty similar to memos sent to attendees in the past, despite the award shows’ reputation for outlandish outfits.
In the past, the Grammys has received complaints about indecency on camera. TheCelebrityCafe.com previously reported on Pink’s scandalous performance during which she wore a revealing body suit.
Do you think the memo will prevent artists from dressing as they like or will they adhere to the dress code?
