Before Green Day gets back to playing packed arenas, the band has scheduled three intimate club dates and also booked an appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
In a statement on their official website, the group announced that they will perform at the Fox Theater in Pomona, California on March 10. The following day, they will be at The Marquee in Tempe, Arizona. On March 13, they will perform at Tricky Falls in El Paso, Texas.
The announcement comes a day after they confirmed that ¡Cuatro! will be screened at SXSW. The film will give a behind the scenes look at the making of their 2012 album trilogy, which included Uno!, Dos! and Tres!. Doug Hamilton’s Broadway Idiot, which chronicles American Idiot’s journey to Broadway, will also premiere at the festival.
In addition, they’re set to perform on March 15 at the Moody Theater during the festival.
In December, they told fans that they are ready to tour again following frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s health problems. The world tour will start on March 28 in Rosemont, Illinois and end in Spain on July 13.
Tickets for the intimate club dates go on sale Friday.
