Havana Brown turns 28 today!
Born on Valentine's Day, Angelique Meunier was born into Mauritian-Australian parents in Melbourne, Australia.
She firstly developed her love to the entertainment world when she was signed to a British recording label, in a group called Fishbowl. The band was about to release its first single when it fell apart, because Brown decided to be a DJ.
This brought her to tour in small venues around Melbourne, and working with Australian promoters around the continent.
From this point, she was signed to Island Records Australia, and established credibility even more by performing as a supporting act for Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias, and Chris Brown in their Australian tours.
She debuted her appearance as a recording artist with the single "We Run the Night," which sold 210,000 copies, and went certified triple platinum by Australian Recording Industry (ARIA). It peaked at number five in the ARIA charts, and received two ARIA awards.
The Australian DJ, singer, and dancer, then signed to American recording company Universal Republic, and released the remix of "We Run the Night" featuring Pitbull.
When asked about influences, Brown cited Janet Jackson as her biggest influence, and said she idolized Jackson.
