Kristin Davis turns 48 today!
Born in Boulder, Colorado, Kristin Landen Davis grew the interest to be an actress at the age of nine. She was one of the casts for Workshop Theater in a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs play.
After graduating from Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of Arts, Davis moved to New York, and opened a yoga studio with a friend.
She acted in a couple of episodes of daytime drama General Hospital, but her big break came in when she landed a role as villain Brooke Armstrong Campbell in Melrose Place.
She left show one year later because the producers decided to kill her character off, but Davis managed to land more roles in popular TV series, such as Friends, Seinfeld and Will & Grace.
After a big break in Melrose Place, she had another break in Sex and the City as Charlotte York, in which she earned an Emmy Award and Women in Film Lucy Award.
The American actress also played in films. Other than the Sex and the City movie and its sequel, she starred in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, The Shaggy Dog, and Deck the Halls.
Other than acting, Davis is also active in wildlife protection work.
She won Humane Society's 2010 Wyler Award, a recognition given to celebrities who made news on behalf of animals. Davis once discovered an abandoned baby elephant in Africa, and arranged him to be taken to wildlife rehabilitation center.
