Hilaria Thomas sued by yoga student for 'negligence'

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Hilaria Thomas is being sued by a man from her yoga class, stating he endured severe injuries as a result of her class.

Spencer Wolff filed documents in the Manhattan Supreme Court stating he suffered “severe” injuries and “emotional upset” from Thomas’s Jan. 15 Yoga class at Yoga Vida, New York Daily News reports.

Wolff is unclear on how he obtained the injuries, but notes that Thomas’s class was “overcrowded” and blames her of “negligence.”

New York Post reports that Wolff was performing a handstand when he fell into a sixth story window and cut open his leg. A witness claims that a fellow student yelled at Thomas, “It’s your fault!” while another states that Wolff was told he was doing the handstand incorrectly and was told to stop.

His foot smashed through the window and blood was seen everywhere, a source reveals. He was taken to the hospital after the fall.

Wolff’s lawyer, Paul Weitz, states that his client is an advanced yoga student and is now fearful that he will never be able to use his leg the same way again. “He can’t flex the ankle and the foot points downward. He’s in a boot,” his lawyer claims. “He is worried whether he’ll be able to use his leg normally again — and right now it’s a waiting game.”

One student did reveal that the Jan.15 class was particularly full as it allows beginners and advanced students to participate and that Thomas is a very popular teacher. She has not commented on the lawsuit as of yet.

Thomas recently announced that she and 30 Rock husband Alec Baldwin are expecting their first child together.
