Ian Somerhalder talks 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' but does not confirm or deny role as Christian Grey

Ian Somerhalder isn’t giving fans any insight as to whether he will star as Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, but he did divulge into what he thinks the auditioning process will be like.

Somerhalder explained to E! News, “I think that's going to be a very interesting story to tell...It seems like whoever plays that role, it will be very interesting rehearsal time…the audition process is gonna be interesting."

The Vampire Diaries actor wouldn’t play favorites when asked about who he would want to see as Anastasia Steele, simply stating that there are “so many” good actresses that he couldn’t simply choose one.

Rumors that Somerhalder would fill the sexually adventurous role surfaced last summer. He joined the likes of Ryan Gosling and Matt Bomer, who were also rumored to take on the role. Somerhalder has not confirmed or denied a potential spot in the film.

Rumors as for who would play Anastasia haven’t been nearly as prominent, however, Black Swan actress Mila Kunis and Harry Potter’s own Emma Watson were rumored to take on the roles - which they both have denied.

The only for-sure thing fans know about the film adaptation is that Kelly Marcel will pen the script. E. L. James will continue to keep fans waiting for who will take on her leading characters.
