Looks like fellow Brits Jake Bugg and One Direction are not quite getting along.
In a recent interview with Short List magazine, singer/songwriter Jake Bugg was asked how he felt about One Direction being called "rock stars," to which the 18-year old replied, "Who the f**k is saying that? Oh, I'm pretty sure they have a good laugh. But it's easy to, isn't it? When you don't have to write any songs," reports SugarScape.
Bugg went on, "People call them the new Beatles because they broke America, but that don't mean a thing. I mean, One Direction must know that they're terrible. They must know...calling them the new rock stars is a ridiculous statement. And people should stop making it."
Members of the boy band fired back on Twitter this morning, with Niall Horan tweeting, "Really buggs me that artists we're fans of ,flip on us in the press !"

Both Bugg and 1D fans have since gotten involved, taking sides on Twitter and defending their favorite.
The two acts were also both present at the Brit Awards this week, One Direction taking home the Global Success award and Bugg losing out on British Breakthrough Act to Ben Howard.
