Glee actress Jane Lynch has just been announced as the host for a new NBC game show called Hollywood Game Night.
According to USA Today, the new show features various celebrities playing “pop-cultured based games” with regular, everyday people. The setting of the show is said to be a “cocktail party atmosphere."
NBC is thrilled to have the talented actress on board, with Entertainment Weekly sharing that NBC alternative president Paul Telegdy said, “With Jane Lynch on board as our host, we now have a key component in place.”
He added, “Her exuberant wit and ability to think quickly will be the perfect match for our show which will give viewers a fresh look inside the off-set lives of their favorite celebrities.”
EW reports that the series has received an order of eight episodes, but there has not been a premiere date set.
Lynch seems excited to play host, saying, “The format is sure to provide a lot of unexpected results that will keep everyone off-balance and entertained.”
It was recently announced that the Glee actress will be making her Brodway debut this summer as Ms. Hannigan in Annie.
