Jennifer Lawrence and David O. Russell are teaming up again for The Ends of the Earth.
This is actually a different project from the Russell film Lawrence joined last week. That film, which will reunite Lawrence and Russell with Bradley Cooper, is still untitled and will also star Christian Bale and Amy Adams. It was once titled American Bullshit and Lawrence will have a small cameo role as Bale’s wife.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Ends of the Earth is about an oil tycoon who gives up his fortune after his affair is publicized. Like SLP, Ends of the Earth will be produced by The Weinstein Company. It will be made after the untitled Cooper/Bale drama.
“Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease...She is that kind of person,” Russell told THR in a statement.
The Ends of the Earth will be produced by Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal. Chris Terrio (Argo) wrote the script.
Russell, Lawrence, Cooper have all been nominated for Oscars for Silver Linings Playbook. The film is also up for Best Picture. Terrio was nominated for his Adapted Screenplay for Argo.
