John Mayer and Katy Perry spend a romantic evening out on Valentine's Day

Katy Perry and boyfriend John Mayer celebrated Valentine’s Day with a romantic dinner in Los Angeles.

Perry and Mayer, who have kept their relationship relatively quiet prior to their appearance at the Grammys, were spotted smiling while leaving a restaurant Thursday. E! News reports that the 28-year-old singer donned a floor-length white dress while Mayer opted for slacks and a jacket.

Following their dinner date, TMZ reports that Mayer and Perry were spotted leaving the Vista Theatre in East Hollywood, where the two allegedly watched Bruce Willis’ new action flick, A Good Day to Die Hard, completely alone. The theatre will not confirm if the romantic couple rented out the place for themselves, but a source notes that no one entered or left the facility the whole two hours photographers waited for them.

Along with dinner and a movie, Hollywood Life reports that the “Wide Awake” singer received a red ruby ring from the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer.

A source tells the site that it “was purchased about a week ago in Daniel Gibbing’s jewelry boutique by John Mayer. It’s a one-of-a-kind Daniel Gibbings ring featuring a 12 carat ruby high-dome cabochon heart shaped center, accented by two teardrop faceted tsavorites and rubies, set in 20 karat gold.”
