Warner Bros. could have to start a Justice League movie from scratch. The studio is reportedly in need of a new writer and script since the current one is terrible.
Badass Digest reports that multiple sources say that Will Beall’s script is awful. The Gangster Squad writer’s script has earned negative responses from the sources that have read it, since they believe it will fall apart before it gets off the ground.
Beall has tried to incorporate the classic DC villain Darkseid as a major threat to the universe. However, Warner Bros. has been meddling in his script, pulling out and adding heroes beyond the big five (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern) at will.
The studio has decided to give up and just wait to see how well Man of Steel does when it is released on June 14.
As Collider notes, the studio had set a 2015 release date for the film. Since it now looks like there’s no way the project could get finished in under two years, it might actually work out for the studio, since Marvel will release Avengers 2 in 2015. Considering that Gangster Squad did not receive glowing reviews, it might also be a wise decision for the studio to seek a more proven screenwriter.
There are no directors attached to Justice League.
