In December, New Mexico police said that two men and a convicted murderer planned to castrate and murder Justin Bieber and his bodyguards. Thankfully, the plot was foiled when the murderer told police about his plan, apparently having second thoughts. The two men he recruited to do it were arrested. Two months later, new details were revealed by police when they released phone calls between the criminals.
The plot was created by Dana Martin, a convicted killer, who met Mark Staake in prison. Staake, picked his nephew, Tanner Ruane, to help him make the trip all the way to New York, where they planned to murder Bieber and his bodyguards.
KOAT in Albuquerque reports that police released phone calls between Martin and Ruane.
According to TMZ, Martin told Ruane, “[Mark's] going to kill the pit bulls and you're going to castrate them.” Police say “pit bull” was code for their targets, including Bieber. Ruane also mentions the “hedge clippers” that were allegedly going to be used to castrate the “Boyfriend” singer.
Martin also describes in detail how Ruane would use a paisley tie to commit the murders. “Tie it really really tight,” Martin says. “Knot it in the front once, really tight, put it in a knot. That cuts off the oxygen, and then tie it in the back again, really tight. That seals the deal.”
Staake was arrested in Vermont, but Ruane did make it to New York and was set to go through with the plot until police stepped in.
