Justin Bieber pokes fun at weed scandal on 'Saturday Night Live'

Like so many stars before him, Justin Bieber took his Saturday Night Live hosting gig last night as a platform to poke fun at himself. Last night’s main satire concerned Bieber’s reported marijuana use.

The Believe Acoustic singer was spotted casually smoking what seemed to be marijuana at a party in early January, TMZ reported.

However, Bieber had the last laugh last night. Smoking Section reports Bieber addressed the drug use in a SNL skit where he played the president of a Miley Cyrus fan club and an avid hater of himself.

In the midst of loving Miley and despising himself, Bieber’s character said, “I heard he got busted for smoking weed, he’s really sorry about it; people make mistakes and he’s never gonna do it again.” This got many laughs from the audience.

This sort of jocular self-awareness is common among celebrities and on SNL. An 18-year-old Britney Spears jokingly addressed her rumored breast implants back in 2000. Last year, Lindsay Lohan poked fun at her legal woes in an attempt to revive her career.
