Justin Timberlake has been making music since he was just a teenager, but if you ask him, his latest album is the best one yet.
According to the Daily Mail, Timberlake is set to go on tour with Jay-Z later this year. Before his tour, he sat down with Rollingstone to discuss his album.
In the interview with Rolling Stone, Timberlake talks about making the The 20/20 Experience, why he decided to come back to music now, and his relationship with producer Timbaland.
When asked about Timbaland, Timberlake said they have “a relationship that I have with nobody else in the world. We're like brothers, really.”
So when they started making this album, Timberlake says he wanted to “make something that feels genuine from us. And I’m glad we were able to do that because, for me, it’s the best stuff I’ve ever done.”
When asked about what made him come back to music now, Timberlake says because of how consuming his last record was, he had to take a break. He also says he doesn’t want to put out 10 to 15 albums, unlike other artists.
“I write music all the time, but until you really feel that desperate need to shout from the rooftops and express yourself in that way, I just kind of keep it to myself,” Timberlake says.
When asked about what music means to him, he says, "[The studio] really is one place that you can still go to that you can be completely free...I'm 32 and I still love it as much as I did when I was 18, so that should tell you amazing how it is."
