Kara DioGuardi and her builder husband Mike McCuddy welcomed their first son yesterday in Los Angeles.

The singer-songwriter's representative told People, Greyson James Carroll McCuddy was born via a gestational surrogate at 1:01 p.m., weighing 8lbs., 10oz., and measured 20.75 inches long.

The baby middle's name, Carroll, was a form of honor to DioGuardi's late mother.

E! News broke the story around 2 weeks ago, that the pair was expecting a son via a surrogate.

The former American Idol judge wrote her struggle to get pregnant in a 2011 memoir, A Helluva a High Note, including three failed attempts of IVF during the last stint of the talent show.

She eventually left the show, avoiding stress she was under during the production.

"I wanted a child and there was no way I could get pregnant under the stress of eighteen-hour work days and live TV."

DioGuardi continued, "Leaving was painful and there will always be a part of me that wanted to stay...But my desire to be in control of my destiny was larger than my need to be a household name."

Congrats to the happy couple!
