Katie Couric admitted to having gone on a date with Larry King.
Couric appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night and revealed all the dirty details of her date with King.
The daytime talk show host, 56, was 30-years-old when she and King went out on their first date. King is 23 years older than Couric. Both were living in Washington, D.C. at the time according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The two went to an Italian restaurant for dinner where they were seated next to each other instead of across from one another.
Couric discusses the events after dinner, reports Web Pro News. “We had a nice enough time and we’re going home, and I see that we’re going over the Memorial Bridge, and this is not the way to my apartment. I said, “Larry, where are we going?’ And he said, ‘My place.’ Oh mother of god," she said.
King’s apartment was reportedly decorated with his accomplishments and keys to the city which Couric did not find attractive.
“So we sat there, and what can I say? He lunged [...] And I started laughing a little bit because the whole situation was out of a bad Lifetime movie. I said, ‘Larry, you’re such an interesting, nice man, but I would like to meet someone a little closer to my age,’” she said.
Couric explains she decided to go out with King because she believed it could be a learning experience for her but sums up the date as a “bad lifetime movie”.
