Talk show host Katie Couric has had police showing up to her home quite frequently after they received multiple 911 calls from a phone listed in her late husband's name.
According to the NY Daily News, every Tuesday at 2 a.m., Couric's late husband Jay Monahan's phone dials 911. This has happened at least ten times in the last month, and each time, a police officer must go to her home near Park Ave.
After showing up late to the taping of her TV show, Couric told her audience the story of the phone that has been making the 911 calls. In reference to the Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, Couric stated, “So I called Ray Kelly, who I know just through the years seeing at different things. ‘Ray, this is so weird but can you help me? I don’t know what to do,'" reports the NY Daily News.
The situation is currently being investigated, and as of now, there are two theories, according to Cinema Blend. Either the phone line is malfunctioning and calling 911, or someone has hacked it and is doing this intentionally.
Sources say that the name on the phone line was never changed because there was no need to; the family has always had the same phone service and did not need to change it over.
