TLC's remaining members, Chilli and T-Boz, found three actresses who will play the R&B group members in their biopic.
They will start filming the project in March in Atlanta. First, MC Lyte and T-Boz confirmed on Twitter that Niatia "Lil Mama" Kirkland will play Lisa "Left- Eye" Lopes. Also, Drew Sidora will play Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins. And now, another young heavy hitter has been added to the list, Keke Palmer. Palmer will play Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas.
Palmer was ecstatic when she offered to play Chilli because she is a fan of the group. She grew up listening to their music since she was born in the early 1990s. They had several hits such as "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," "What About Your Friends," "Waterfalls," "No Scrubs," "Unpretty," "Girl Talk," "Baby, Baby, Baby," and many more.
According to her interview with Vibe magazine from Singersroom.com, she said, “I am a true fan. I love these ladies and I always want to be proud of my work in any role that I do, said Palmer.” “I would sing ‘No Scrubs’ over and over again to the point my parents would have to tell me to stop."
Sister2Sister and Jet magazine report Palmer said it was an honor to play this role, because TLC is one of the greatest R&B female groups of all time. And Vh1 will begin shooting and producing the film, now that all three girls were selected for the film.
Most remember Palmer from Akeelah and the Bee with Angela Bassett and Lawrence Fishbourne, Madea's Family Reunion, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, True Jackson: VP , and Joyful Noise with Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton. Keke Palmer is the fourth highest paid child-star on television.
Congrats to Keke on her latest project!
